Tzur Gadassi
DMD, MSc - Certified Specialist in Orthodontics
Dr. Liat is deeply passionate about every facet of Orthodontics. From tackling complex professional challenges to staying at the forefront of research and innovation, she is continually inspired by the transformative impact orthodontic care has on her patients’ confidence and quality of life.
As a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Dr. Liat is an active member of the Canadian, American, and Israeli Associations of Orthodontics, as well as the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. In addition to her clinical practice, she shares her expertise as an instructor in the graduate Orthodontics program at the University of British Columbia, helping to shape the next generation of specialists.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Liat cherishes time with her husband and children. She has a passion for ballet and live theatre, enjoys exploring BC’s stunning landscapes, and is always eager to hear about your favourite ice cream flavours. Known for her warm and vibrant personality, she’s drawn to bright pink—her favourite colour and a reflection of her positive outlook on life.
MEET OUR TEAM
As a treatment coordinator, Shannon works closely with families to plan your orthodontic journey and ensure you have all the information needed to make the best decision for yourself, or your child. She understands not only the clinical perspective of orthodontics but as a parent and former braces patient herself, she can speak on her personal experiences as a child and can prepare you for what to expect during your orthodontic transformation!
Shannon completed her Certified Dental Assisting course at West Coast College of Healthcare in 2007, graduating top of her class with the Award of Overall Excellence as well as the Award of Excellence from the Certified Dental Assistants of BC before completing her Orthodontic training at UBC in 2009. She also participates in Dental Outreach trips to help provide dental care to kids in underserved remote areas.
In her personal life, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, travelling and experiencing other cultures. She grew up as a competitive Horseback rider in the Hunter/Jumper world, and looks forward to having time to get back into it in the future!
